I’m testing a build and install issue that was preventing me from using the NextGEN plugin for WordPress. Hopefully there should be a load of photos here from my post-Chicago ride.
and with a little luck, the XML Google Maps plugin will pick up on the gallery and the geotags in the photos
…job done.

About the Author

Paul lives, rides and works in Cardiff, South Wales. His work seems to largely entail fixing things and keeping wheels on. Officially, he is actively engaged and interested in Enterprise Architecture these days, but has a secret past that involved standing around on glaciers collecting meltwater samples, and walking through endless fields of wheat taking radiance measurements.
You must talk me through this; it looks though you’ve sussed it. On my Amazon wishlist (private) I’m collecting the possible GPS gadgets that I ought to play with, but I’d be interested in knowing whether you’ve intergrated the camera with the GPS in some way or whether they’re still separate, or whether indeed you’re using your BlackBerry?
Can you provide details on your settings for NextGen gallery? Every time I upload an image it seems that the GPS info in the EXIF data is stripped out.
Did you experience any issues similar to that?
Any info you can provide is very appreciated.
Cheers.
Adam – haven’t done anything other than upload photos to default settings in nextgen. How about sending me a photo to test against it – it may be plugin versions(?)
Hey,
There is a picture available here: http://adampetrie.com/wp-content/themes/Disher%20Theme%202.0/images/100_1658.JPG
It should be geotagged for the southwest of the UK.
Thanks for this!
